Jean-Charles Sanchez, Switzerland

Jean-Charles Sanchez has been working since 1989 in the field of proteomics and diagnostic biomarker discovery. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry at the Buckingham University (UK) in the field of proteomics and diabetes. In 1997, he obtained a Business Administration diploma from the Management School of Lausanne. Since 1995, he has been the head of the Translational Biomarker Group at the Geneva University and director of the Proteomics Core Facility of the Faculty of Medicine. He is the founder of the Swiss Proteomics Society (SPS) and the European Proteomics Association (EuPA). He is Editor-in-Chief of the journal Translational Proteomics. The activities in his research group cover the discovery of biomarkers associated to brain damage disorders such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson disease and brain aneurism. Jean-Charles Sanchez is the author or co-author of more than 180 papers in refereed journals as well as more than 30 patents.
